Competitive Business
Analytical vs. Intuitive Reasoning
In today's business world, many more businesses utilize analytical thinking because it is more consistent and easier to measure. This type of thinking is reliable, which is what businesses tend to gravitate towards. However, if a company only uses analytical thinking, they often don't achieve valid solutions because they skip over intuitive thinking, which encompasses creativity and innovation. Intuitive thinking is divergent thinking and it is the ability to offer different ideas. Analytical thinking is convergent thinking, which offers rational ideas. It is important to utilize both of these schools of thought, and not just one or the other. Businesses in present day often don't do this, and if you are able to train your employees in this way, you are much more likely to find a solution that differentiates your company and creates a competitive advantage.
Note on Rhetoric: The way that you think about things causes you to analyze your company as a writer. Does your business use a the correct amount of analytical and intuitive reasoning in order to create the best product and therefore the maximum amount of persuasion? Self analyzing yourself and your company and their reasoning processes will help with your rhetoric.
